The safer, under $200.00 method, involves using a custom made mouth tray in conjunction with a milder peroxide solution. Patients wear the mouth tray for an hour a day for several days. Benefits include less risk of tooth sensitivity or tissue burn, as well as, a considerable financial saving.
  
  
• Borrok Family Dentistry provides one-hour whitening without the use of "special lights" for patients who want fast results. A caustic thirty-five percent peroxide solution is used for whitening. For some, the thirty-five percent peroxide solution can increase tooth sensitivity or damage soft tissue. Time required to achieve acceptable results determines the cost, but tooth whitening without "light activated" precedures is less than $500.00.
  
  
• One hour whitening using a "special light" and a caustic 35% hydrogen peroxide solution is typically priced well over $500.00. The "special light" can be one of the following types: halide and halogen lights, plasma arc lights, or laser lights. Theoretically, the "special light" activates the bleaching solution and shortens the treatment time. Dental literature and many dentists do not support the effectiveness of "light activitated" whitening procedures. Many feel "light activated" whitening is a costly gimmick that does not improve patient results.

Patient Comfort Anesthesia

• For maximum safety and minium risk, Dr. Borrok does not use nitrous oxide nor intravenous sedation.
• Only local anesthetics are used with an emphasis on waiting until the patient's gums are sufficiently numb.
• Septocaine, thought to offer a more profound anesthetic and a faster onset than previous anesthetics, is the primary anesthetic used in Dr. Borrok's office.
