Dr. Martin J. Borrok
Dr. Martin J. Borrok was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. He was graduated from Berkeley High School and continued his education in St. Louis at Washington University. Dr. Borrok completed his undergraduate work at Washington University and was graduated with a B.A. in biology in three years. In 1971, Dr. Borrok received his Doctor of Dental Science degree.
Upon graduation, Dr. Borrok joined the Army Reserves and moved from St. Louis to Kirksville, Missouri. For two years, Dr. Borrok was an associate in a local dental practice serving Kirksville and Lancaster, Missouri.
In 1973, Dr. Borrok opened his own practice in Kirksville and has been at his present location at 705 E. La Harpe Street since 1980.
Dr. Borrok and his wife Patricia live near Novinger. Patricia teaches reading at Green City R-1 Elementary School and is active in her church. Away from school, Patricia is an avid scrapbooker. Their four children, David,
Kate,
Jack, and Andy, were graduated from Adair County R-1 High School and pursue careers throughout the Midwest. Dr. and Mrs. Borrok find time to visit their children as often as possible.
Hobbies for Dr. Borrok include hunting and fishing in Northeast Missouri. In fact, hunting trips to North Missouri with his uncle introduced Dr. Borrok to the area and strongly influenced his decision to establish a practice in the Kirksville area. In addition to hunting and fishing, Dr. Borrok has learned to fly airplanes at the Kirksville Regional Airport and is a part-time certified flight instructor.
Currently, Dr. and Mrs. Borrok relax on their farm outside Novinger without the rigors of caring for bottle calves, runt pigs in the basement, or beef cattle, but maybe, someday, there will be time to have a few dairy goats. Until the dairy goats become a reality, the Borroks are content with their three dogs and Bob the cat who lost his tail in a near-tragic accident.
